On the weekend of Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st April 2024, 11 of our Women’s Artistic Team Members competed at the NDP Regional Grades with huge success. The team ranged from gymnasts that had never competed before, finishing their competition gaining experience and confidence, to gymnasts that are accomplished competitors gaining personal bests and gaining further competition experience.
The day started with our Preparation 2 2014 girls. Nevaeh showed the spectrum grace, elegance and determination. She had a great day, keeping all nerves tightly locked away and trying her best throughout! Starting on Bars, Nevaeh swung her way through with confidence and competed Beam with no falls and great accuracy and fluency. Floor and Range and Conditioning were sassy, and showed exceptional flexibility! Lastly, Nevaeh did a great flighted vault taking 1st in this Piece, 2nd on Bars, Joint 3rd on Beam, and 4th on Range, taking 2nd place overall, she was awarded a ‘Working beyond’ level for her Grade.
In our Preparation Grade 1 we had 5 Gymnasts competing. Alicia, Emily, Martha, Noemi & Emilia. This was our girls first ever Regional Championships! The girls shook off their nerves and took to the arena! Starting on Beam, Alicia presented a clean, polished and precise routine taking 1st place for this apparatus along with gold on Range & Conditioning showing the judges exceptional flexibility and complete control! Alicia also took Gold for the preparation Grade 1 2015+ Category and took the all round trophy for being the highest scoring gymnast throughout the whole of Preparation 1. Well done Alicia. Emily showed the arena exceptional artistry and an all round beautiful performance on Floor taking 1st place as the highest floor score for her age category! She also flew over the vault resulting in a great score! Emily took an amazing 8th place! Well done Emily! Martha competed in the Prep 1 2016 Jan- May category. Martha preformed incredibly consistent routines throughout her entire competition. Flying on vault, & showing effortless artistry and performance on beam and Floor! Martha took 1st place on both beam and floor and 3rd place overall for her age category. Well done Martha. Emilia showed us confidence and clean routines with lots of personal bests throughout all pieces! Coming 2nd on Range & Conditioning Emilia showed incredible flexibility and effortless control! We also can’t miss out the sass and pure energy of her incredible floor routine placing in the top 10 for floor! Emilia placed 2nd overall! Well done Emilia. Noemi showed us exceptional strength and control on bars leaving her with an impressive score! Noemi remained consistent and in complete control throughout the rest of her routines placing her within the top 10 for Range & Conditioning with an excellently executed routine! Noemi placed an amazing 13th overall. Well done Noemi. All 5 girls were also awarded a ‘Working Beyond’ Certificate for their grade.
The next Grade was our Development 2 2012-2013. Ella entered the arena with nerves to one side and a very composed and determined attitude. Maintaining consistency throughout all of her routines she flew over the vault beautifully and executed her floor routine exceptionally, placing within the top 10 for floor! Ella placed an amazing 13th overall receiving a ‘working above’ Certificate for her grade, well done Ella.
Moving onto our Development 4 category. Ella-Rose showed the arena courage, strength and pure determination. After a fall in her beam warm up, the nerves started to build, however Ella put these to one side and managed to present an exceptional performance placing within the top 10 on this piece, making both herself, her team mates and her coaches incredibly proud! Ella continued to flourish as the competition continued placing within the top 10 on vault, bars & Floor! Overall Ella placed an impressive 10th! Ella received a ‘working above ‘ Certificate for her grade too. Well done Ella- Rose.
Our final category was our Development 3. Layla started incredibly strong on both floor and beam, showing beautiful artistry and great execution. Unfortunately Layla had to withdrawn half way through due to an injury. Well done Layla for your excellent routines. Zofia performed consistent routines throughout her competition, completing a stunning beam routine placing within the top 10 for that piece and showing beautiful fluency and execution on bars placing within the top 10 for that too! Zofia placed an excellent 16th overall with a ‘working above’ Certificate too. Well done Zofia. Lillian had an amazing competition. With exceptionally strong and consistent performances throughout. Placing within the top 10 on vault, beam and joint 1st on floor and 2nd on Range! Lillian placed an impressive 3rd overall and received a ‘working beyond’ Certificate for her grade. Well done Lillian.
All in all the Regional Championships for our Pegasus girls was ecstatic! It was great to see the team pull together, support each other and succeed together in ways that don’t only receive medals. Congratulations to the girls and the coaches involved.
