Members of our boys’ squad competed at the South-East Regional grades.
The first round saw our youngest members competing at Level 0. For Alec, this was his first competition, and he presented some great routines and showed a real competitive nature. Alec looked confident and remained focused throughout the competition to finish in 5th place. Team
mate Mark excelled on H.Bar and PPP, demonstrating real strength, flexibility, and his ability to swing effortlessly finishing in 3rd place. Kian and Luke competed at Level 1. Kian started the competition well and looked confident, ticking each routine off solidly as he went until PPP
where he had two unfortunate falls. Kian finished in 6th place overall with a score of 51.65 and secured a spot at the National Finals in the Blakeborough team! Luke finished in 11th place overall, scoring 47.95 and also securing a spot in the National Finals for the Currier team. Luke
demonstrated a great vault, solid bar routine and performed great circles on the pommel.
Round two saw the remainder of the squad compete. At Level 2 Rocco had a great competition, 7 clean routines with little in the way of deductions for the judges to take including an outstanding routine on PPP scoring 9.75 from 10.00. Rocco finished in 2nd place overall scoring
58.60 and securing a spot in the Blakeborough Team for National Finals. Ezra finished in 6th place also qualifying for with the Blakeborough Team for the National Finals with a score of 53.40. Ezra competed a clean floor routine, swung great circles on Pommel and impressed with
a stylish PPP routine to score 9.55! Teammates Whittaker and Jasper both competed and qualified in the Currier team for the National Finals. Finishing in 8th and 9th positions retrospectively, Whittaker swung a great H.Bar routine hitting handstands and somersaulted high over the vault! Jasper shone on Pommel with long lines and speedy circles leaving the judges only 0.3 in deductions and enjoyed the competition experience!
Leo, Ben and Brodie all competed at Level 4 and all secured a spot in the Blakeborough team for the National Finals. Leo upheld his reputation within the South-East region taking the title with a score of 58.50, a perfect 10.00 score on Vault and less than 1.0 mark in deductions on 6 out of 7
of the routines he competed. Ben finished in 3rd place swinging a great H.Bar routine, a clean P.Bar routine, powerful Vaulting to score 9.50 out of 10.00 and a Pommel routine with no falls to score a total of 54.45! Teammate Brodie showed his strength on Rings scoring 8.30 from 9.00, a
strong powerful Vault and a clean P.Bar routine to impress the judges totalling a score of 53.75! Ethan competed his last Regional Grades competition, Level 6, and qualified for the Blakeborough team for National Finals. Ethan looked confident and enjoyed the competition
experience. He demonstrated a chilled P.Bar routine, a Floor routine with high flighted somersaults and nailed landings along with a great swinging H.Bar routine to score a total of 47.95.
Throughout the day it was lovely to see all our boys support each other and become a network that pushed each other throughout the competition. The cheering and support from gymnasts, coaches and parents alike was a true credit to team
