Background & Experience
A physical education teacher in Hampshire, born in Australia, educated in England, a County tennis and lacrosse player, with precious little idea about gymnastics, received a package with the details of the then brand new Sunday Times award scheme.
She was hooked but it was not until a move to Northern Ireland a couple of years later that Fef became seriously involved in Club gymnastics. Since then she has served on the executive committees of one home nation, two regions and one county, founded 2 clubs, each of which produced high level performers and has led the current one, Pegasus to the acquisition of a designated facility without access to major funding.
She was a member of the National Coach Education Panel for General Gymnastics 1994 / 1995 and has contributed to a significant number of development projects at Club and County level.
She was Chair of Kent Gymnastics Joint Technical Committee and a member of the County Executive Committee until 2006.
In the light of detailed feedback and suggestions made by Fef during 2006, the National Governing Body now has a full support mechanism including a Coach Support Officer to help Coaches facing professional difficulties, disciplinary procedures or suspension.
Maidstone Sports Administrator of Year - Winner 1994.
Service to Kent Sport Award 1995.
Outstanding Service to Kent Sport Award 2004.
High Sheriffs Certificate 2004.
South East Regional Long Service Award 2009
